Situated opposite the village green in this sleepy part of
Herefordshire, one is assured of traditional and atmospheric
surroundings. The Pandy inn is reputed to be the oldest pub in the
county and sits in the heart of the Dorstone community, yet is only
15 minutes from Hay-on-Wye, the town of books. |

Dating back to around 1185, this historic inn
rakes the ideal stop off for a taste of modern
hospitality and fine food.
It is said that Richard de Brito built The Pandy
Inn originally to house his workers who were
building Dorstone church, after his involvement
in the murder of Thomas de Beckett 11 years
earlier. Oliver Cromwell is also known to have
taken respite at The Pandy Inn during the civil
war of the 17th century. |
